A unique indoor garden project in downtown Calgary required a highly customized approach to meet strict architectural and logistical requirements. The project demanded a specialized soil blend to support a thriving tropical garden while overcoming significant challenges related to packaging, transport and delivery into Telus Sky, downtown Calgary Alberta.
The project's primary challenge was developing a custom soil blend that met the specific structural and horticultural requirements of the indoor garden. Additionally, the delivery process posed a logistical obstacle—50 cubic yards of soil had to be transported into a high-rise building with limited access via elevators. The project had a tight delivery schedule, necessitating a seamless coordination between Eagle Lake Turf Farm & Landscape Supply (Eagle Lake) and JVR Landscape.
Eagle Lake and JVR Landscape brought their expertise and dedication to the forefront, with Eagle Lake supplying the custom soil blend and managing the logistics and delivery, while JVR Landscape led the design and installation of the project. They formulated a high-quality soil blend tailored to the garden’s needs, ensuring optimal plant health and long-term sustainability. To navigate the constraints of high-rise delivery, the soil was meticulously packed into 50-pound bulk bags, making elevator transport both practical and efficient.
